Sabine Wüthrich was born in Biel, Switzerland. She studied at the Conservatory of Berne with Elisabeth Glauser where she completed her Bachelor of Music. In the same year she came to the Netherlands to continue her studies with Udo Reinemann at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. She was also accepted into the "New Opera Academy" of Amsterdam/The Hague under direction of Alexander Oliver. In June 2001 Sabine completed the Master Degree in Opera as well as the First Phase Diploma. From 2002 she studied with Margreet Honig and was awarded her Master of Music in 2004.

In addition, Sabine has taken part in masterclasses with Dawn Upshaw, Christina Deutekom, Jard van Nes, Rudolf Jansen, Graham Clark, Dale Duesing and Edith Wiens.

As a soloist Sabine appeared with the Berne Symphony Orchestra (Nicolai "Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor"), the Orchestre des Heures Romantiques (Haydn "Creation", Brahms "Ein deutsches Requiem" and "Das himmlische Leben" from Mahler's 4th Symphony), with the Ensemble Nieuwe Muziek (Gubaidulina "Hommage à T.S. Eliot" and Danajlovska "Voices"; a world premiere), with Musica Brabantiae (Mozart "Krönungsmesse"and "Requiem"), with the Doelen Ensemble (Wagemans "Het Vijfde Boek"), with Holland Symfonia (Pergolesi "Stabat Mater" and with the National Youth Orchestra NJO (Mahler "4th Symphony").

In 2002 she has been invited to perform at the Autumn Festival in Tallinn, Estonia.

With the baroque ensemble PhoenixRising Sabine has appeared on several early music festivals such as the Norwich & Norfolk Festival, the Cambridge Early Music Series and the Stratford-upon-Avon-Festival.

Sabine has a big interest for contempory repertoire. Dutch composers Daan Manneke and Jan van de Putte especially wrote pieces for her.

In 2006 she worked in masterclasses and workshops with composer Sofia Gubaidulina and performed many of her chambermusic pieces.

In opera, she sang Miss Wordsworth in Britten's "Albert Herring", Rosita in Offenbach's "Un mari à la porte", Second Woman in Purcell's "Dido&Aenas" and recently Siebel in Gounod's "Faust".

Sabine has worked with conductors such as Paul McCreesh, Daniel Klajner, Lucas Vis, Arie van Beek, Martien van Woerkum, Henrik Schaefer, Etienne Siebens, Patrick Flynn, Otto Tausk and Reinbert de Leeuw.

She regularly gives concerts with pianist Daniël Kramer and with her ensembles Trio Amare (soprano, clarinet, piano), Quatre Bouches (vocal quartet) and Ensemble Bilitis (soprano, 2 flutes, 2 harps, piano/celesta) throughout Holland, France and Switzerland.

Sabine was awarded the prestigious Swiss scholarship from the Kiefer Hablitzel Stiftung three times.

In february 2007 Sabine wins the the first prize of the Vocalists Presentation, the so called Jo Bollekamp prize for the most promising young soloist in the Netherlands.

Upcoming concerts include Bachs "Johannes-Passion", "Magnificat", "Matthäuspassion" and Mozarts "Requiem".
