
For more than 25 years, Bert Langeler has been an active and successful conductor and brass instructor in the Netherlands and abroad. He has organized various musical events regionally, nationally and internationally, such as educational band programs, gala concerts, workshops, summer camps and musical day programs for young musicians, and recitals. He has worked with soloists such as Edwin Rutten, Ernst-Daniel Smid, Frits Damrow, Linda Arnoldus, Liudas Mockunas, Marius Balcitys, Steven Mead, Patrick Sheridan, Roger Webster, Marco Bakker, and the Maltese soprano Karen Camilleri.
Bert is a member of the Dutch National Conductors Association and an active member of WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles)and IGEB (internationale Gesellschaft zur Erforschung und förderung der Blasmusik) .He organizes exchanges with bands from several countries, such as Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, England, South-Africa, The United States of America, Slovenia, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia and Israel, to name but a few. He often travels abroad as a guest conductor, to visit clinics and to participate in conductor collegiums. He is often invited to serve as an adjudicator during various festivals and examinations of music students. Furthermore, he is frequently invited to work as an artistic facilitator for international organisations.
Bert is currently internationally active in The Baltic states. His activities include giving lectures, leading educational band programmes and serving as guest conductor.
In the Netherlands he conducts one fanfareband and two windbands.
From April 2001 to January 2004 and in the period May-November 2005, he was the Director/Manager of the Dutch National Youth Wind Band & Ensembles (NJBE) of the Netherlands, a foundation which is made up of the Dutch National Wind Band, the Dutch National Fanfare Band and the Dutch National Youth Percussion Ensemble. In 2006 he served as international tour manager.
On January 1, 2004, Bert was awarded the commemorative Medal of Honour of the Zaltbommel area, in The Netherlands, by the Mayor of Zaltbommel during a special ceremony for his exceptional artistic contribution to the local society over the past 23 years.
In 1998 the region of Heusden and Altena, The Netherlands, presented Bert an award for his outstanding work and artistic accomplishments.
